Equipment & Medication

Midwives typically carry some medications to support labor, birth, and immediate postpartum care. However, midwives must collaborate with a physician or nurse practitioner to secure pharmaceuticals. HOMEBIRTH Midwives cannot access pain medications such as narcotics and can not provide epidurals during a homebirth.
