Homebirth Midwifery & Well Woman Care
Postpartum & Neonatal Care
Mother Me Midwifery plans a standard of four postpartum visits. The first is an in-home visit between 24 to 48 hours following birth to assess the wellness of the mother and the baby, administer Rhogam (if applicable & available), and complete the newborn metabolic screening, hearing screening, and critical congenital heart defect screening. The second is an in-home visit between 5 to 7 days following birth to assess the mother's and baby's health and wellness, do a neonatal weight check, and provide support to aid you in achieving your breastfeeding goals. The third visit is an in-clinic visit 2 to 3 weeks following birth to assess the mother's and baby's health and wellness, discuss the client's family planning goals, and provide resources and referrals to promote postpartum healing. The fourth is an in-clinic visit at 6 to 8 weeks following birth to assess the general health and wellness of the mother and the baby, conduct a physical exam including an external and internal pelvic exam (if consented) to evaluate healing, assess abdominal muscles, and complete a pap test (when applicable).
