The Mother Me Doula Collective is a community of birth workers serving growing families across southeastern Pennsylvania. We support each other within our community as we "doula the doula" through ongoing education and mentorship. Our model of care focuses on professionalism, mentoring, community and accountability.
The Mother Me Doula Collective is committed to creating a strong doula community of support for you. We "doula the doula". We host 1 meeting per month. Each meeting may focus on current care practices in our area, recent birth stories, and opportunities for ongoing training to stay up to date on the rapidly changing culture of obstetric and evidence based care. We hope to foster a deep sense of unity as we build on our knowledge and experience. All doulas are expected to regularly attend meetings.
The ideal applicant is passionate and committed to doula work, is professional, has attended a doula training, is certified or working towards certification, and is committed to building a strong community of support for the families we serve and for our fellow doulas. They must be truly interested in full-time professional doula work, actively available to support birth or postpartum clients. As a birth DOULA, they should have an understanding and commitment to being on-call. As a postpartum DOULA, they should be able to provide confident in-home support for the entire family. DOULAS should have availability to attend collective meetings and actively participate in a mentoring relationship between doulas.
